Anything that has been labeled
"vintage" is generally considered to be an "oldie, but goodie" in
the sense that it's an item that has stood the test of time and
become what can be considered a "classic" whether it's a car,
guitar, kid's game, model train, or what have you. Vintage guitars
are generally older classics that have proven to be difficult to
improve on, such as the Fender Telecaster, which has been in
production since the 1950's and is still going strong. Thus, as with
true classics, you're going to pay a price -- and a hefty one at
that -- for that 1964 Sunburst Telecaster you're always wanted to
own. If you're a vintage guitar collector, no price will likely faze
you since these classics tend to be good investments that continue
to grow in value, just like fine wine or a 15th century painting by
one of the master
artists. |
